2018 Strawberry Festival Recap and a Special Thanks

This year the Brandywine Health Foundation held the annual Strawberry Festival the weekend of May 31st to June 3rd. What a weekend it was! The volunteers of Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company spent many hours preparing for the event on Wednesday May 30th. They had to prepare all the fields for parking and set up all of the equipment and signage to accomplish the large task at hand.

On Tuesday May 29th, 2018, the members of the Coatesville Area Senior High School SADD program in partnership with local emergency responder agencies held a “mock crash’ at the high school. On Wednesday May 2nd, members from the fire company traveled to South Coatesville to attend the Spring, Fire 1 Graduation at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center. Two Alarm Fire on Paul Nelms Dr

At 18:27 on Friday May 4th the company was dispatched to Paul Nelms Drive for a reported house fire. Engine 38’s crew arrived first to find heavy fire showing from the front of the house. Assistant 38 Taylor requested for the 2nd alarm quickly upon arrival to add more manpower to the incident.
