Annual Holiday Party

December 18, 2014

On Wednesday December 17, 2014, the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company celebrated their annual Holiday Party. The party was held for the firefighters and their families in the fire company banquet room. It was an evening of excellent food and companionship that was attended by over 80 people. In addition to the emergency responders and their families, the fire company was honored to have Caln Township Commissoner President John Contento and his wife, Commissioner Lorraine Tindaro and her husband, Commissioner Josh Young, Assistant Township Manager Tony Scheivert, and former Township Fire Marshal Steve Miller and his family attend the party.

A major theme of the annual holiday party is to recognize and thank the fire company's emergency responders for their efforts throughout the year. The three chief officers (Chief John Cordisco, Deputy Chief Dan Donnachie, and Assistant Chief Don Taylor) individually recognized each emergency responder by presenting them with a certificate acknowledging the number of fire responses, the QRS responses, and total company activity points for the year. They also presented each emergency responder with small gifts as a token of their appreciation.

Each year the chiefs recognize the outstanding emergency responders and present plaques to them. This year Firefighter Sean Barron was recognized as the most active firefighter, EMT Jerard Linnemann as the most active QRS responder, and Fire Police Officer Charlie Elder as the most active fire police officer for the year. Congratulations to each of these well deserving individuals.

The Chiefs also wish to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the families of our emergency responders throughout the year. Too many interrupted meals, missed family events, and late night calls can be taxing on the whole family. Thanks for supporting our responders.

The rest of the evening was spent enjoying a delicious meal, sharing in relaxed conversations, and enjoying the music provided by DJ Cory Huth.

The members of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company send sincere wishes to everyone for a Happy Holiday and a safe and healthy New Year!
