On Tuesday morning 8/18/15, the Thorndale Fire Company was dispatched to Route 30 Bypass Westbound at the Off Ramp for 322 for the vehicle fire. Engine 38 made the response with a crew of three. Shortly after responding Chief 39 (Law) advised Chester County 911 that he was on location with a pick up truck with the engine compartment fully involved. Engine 38 arrived and went in service with an 1 3/4 line off the front bumper and put a quick knock on the fire. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and no injuries were reported. During the incident the Westbound Off Ramp from 30 to 322 and the On Ramp from 322 to 30 were closed. Once the hose and equipment from Engine 38 were placed back on the truck the crew went available and turned the scene over to PSP (PA State Police).
