June 9, 2016

On Thursday 6/9/16 at 10:46am Traffic 38 was dispatched to assist the City of Coatesville Fire Department in the area of Lincoln Highway and 13th Ave due to a gas main that was struck by construction crews in the area. Ladder 41 and Engine 43 from the City were already on location and due to the leak being right in the middle of the intersection the roadway needed to be shut down.

Lincoln Highway Command requested that Traffic 38 set up on the Caln Twp side at Lincoln Highway and Veterans Dr blocking traffic going into the City. Traffic 38 was on scene in less then 3 minutes and quickly had the road shut down to protect the crews on the other side of the bridge while they worked to fix the leak and check the buildings in that area for any gas inside. Traffic 38 operated on scene for approx 1 hour with 3 Fire Police Officers before being cleared by Command when Peco got the leak under control.
