Vehicle Fire on Fisherville Rd

On Monday May 15th at 21:08hrs Station 38 (Thorndale) was dispatched to the area of Fisherville Rd and the Route 30 Bypass for a vehicle fire. Shortly after dispatch Ambulance 44 (Westwood) who was returning from BWH came upon the fire and reported and engine compartment fully involved. Assistant 38 (Taylor) arrived next and confirmed the report. Rescue 38 with a crew of 4 responded and on arrival pulled past the vehicle and stretched an 1 3/4 handline and made a quick knock on the fire. All occupants of the vehicle were able to exit the vehicle safely and no injuries were reported. Thorndale Fire Police were on scene as well and had Fisherville closed between Reeceville Rd and the Bypass Ramp. Flings Towing was also on scene to remove the vehicle once it was extinguished.

Me and my girlfriend was driving the night this happened down the bypass. We both noticed a man with a hat was walking on the side of bypass in the pitch black walking away from the scene (towards us). I thought it was odd. After we passed him we eventually hit Brandywine exit and saw the car fire.
