On May 19th at 16:31hrs Station 38 was dispatched to assist Station 41/43 along with several other companies for the reported house fire in the 1100blk of Stirling St in Coatesville. As crews were responding to the scene the 911 center advised they were getting multiple calls of thick black smoke coming from the 2nd and 3rd floors and the house was believed to be unoccupied.

Ladder 41 from Coatesville arrived first and reported smoke showing from a 2 1/2 story twin. Engine 43 arrived next and crews stretched an 1 3/4 handline while the operator secured a supply line from a hydrant right on the corner. Crews were advised of a possible dog still in the house as well. As crews gained entry and advanced their hoseline they found the dog and were able to remove it to safety. A short time later crews found a small fire in the 2nd floor and were able to put a quick knock on the fire.

As crews from Rescue and Engine 38 along with 76 and 37 arrived they assisted with overhaul and setting up a PPV (positive pressure) fan in the front door to clear any remaining smoke from the house. The fire was placed under control in less then 15 minutes.
