Just before 2am on Wednesday July 19th Station 38 along with MICU 46 from Downingtown were dispatched to the area of 322 and the Route 30 overpass for the accident reported as one vehicle overturned. Chief and Assistant 38 were the first ones to respond and were advised by Chester County 911 Center of a vehicle on it's roof on 322 and occupants were out of the vehicle. As units were responding the 911 Center began to get further information indicating their was a motorcycle crash above 322 on the Bypass as well and was believed to be all one in the same incident.

Chief 38 and MICU 46 along with Rescue 38 and Traffic 38 responded to the motorcycle accident on the bypass. Upon arrival Chief 38 was able to find the bike on the eastbound side but was unable to find a rider. MICU 46 however was able to find the rider who was laying on the westbound side of the roadway. Upon investigation it was found out that this is what caused the vehicle to swerve, hit the guardrail and flip over and land on 322.

As the crews operated on the bypass Assistant 38 along with Engine 38, Utility 38, Ambulance 41 and several fire police officers operated on 322. Fire Police had both sides of the roadway closed during the incident. Luckily even though the vehicle landed on it's roof the occupants were able to self extricate

MICU 46 and Ambulance 41 transported a total of 3 patients to Paoli. Once the motorcycle was removed and patient was transported from the 30 Bypass, Rescue 38 moved down to 322 to assist with lighting for the Police. Crews remained on scene for over an hour until PD was finished and Flings Towing was able to flip the vehicle and tow it away.

We would like to Thank Traffic 45 from Downingtown for assisting on 322 as well.
