Just after 5pm on Tuesday evening, Station 38 was alerted to assist West Bradford Fire Company (Station 39) with a dwelling fire in the 1300 Block of Parkview Lane. Initial reports indicated a microwave was on fire that was spreading throughout the kitchen. Engine 39-1 was first to arrive on scene and reported smoke showing with a working kitchen fire. Engine 38 arrived behind Engine 39-1 and was ordered to take a second handline to the front door. The crew from Engine 38 stretched the second line through the front door to backup the initial attack line. The fire was quickly knocked down and crews from 38 and 39 began to check for any additional extension to other floors as well as ventilate the structure of the remaining smoke in the residence. Engine 38 was released by Command (Chief 39) a short time later.
