Pole & Wires Turn into Brush Fire

Station 38 was dispatched to the 600 block of West Bondsville Road for trees down on wires. Rescue 38 arrived on location confirming a tree down on wires with an active brush fire. PECO was requested to the scene to secure the power. Rescue 38's Officer requested Engine 76 to assist with suppression of the brush fire. With gusting winds and dry conditions, the brush fire began to expand rapidly. Rescue 38 requested a tanker and two Brush ATVs be dispatched to assist. with suppression efforts

Chief 38 arrived on scene establishing West Bondsville Command. While awaiting PECOs arrival crews worked to suppress areas of the Brush Fire safely and to control further spread. PECO arrived on scene and secured the power to the area. Command requested 3 additional tankers be added for additional water supply. The brush fire was brough under control with extensive overhaul. Once all hot spots were soaked with water, command was terminated and all companies returned to a ready status.
