On the evening of July 4th, the company was dispatched to 300 Block of Mary Street to assist the Downingtown Fire Department with a possible building fire. Assistant 45 arrived on the scene of a series of row homes reporting an attached shed on the Charlie side of the end of the row building well involved with extension into the home. There was visible smoke and fire coming from the 2nd and 3rd floors, sides Bravo and Charlie. Engine 38 arrived as second due Engine assisting with advancing additional 1 3/4" attack lines to division 2 and 3 of the fire building. Tower 45 was directed to ladder the main fire building so crew could assist with fire suppression on the roof and contain any further extension to the subsequent homes in the row. Crews suppressed the fire and began extensive overhaul due to the amount of fire in the walls between the ceiling and the roof on division 3. Traffic 38 assisted with road closure in the area of the fire. Crews were on scene for several hours before being released by Command.
