Thorndale Fire Company, along with Engine 76 from the VA Fire Department, was dispatched to the 2500 block of Clothier Street for a reported electrical fire—a light fixture in a second-floor bathroom.

Deputy 38 arrived at 11:14 AM and found smoke showing from the roof. The call was immediately upgraded to a house fire, prompting additional units from Coatesville, Modena, East Brandywine, Westwood, and Lionville.

Engine 38 laid a supply line and deployed a 1.75” handline with assistance from Engine 76. Assistant 76 was assigned Division 2 Supervisor; Assistant 38 took Division 1.

Crews encountered zero visibility and heavy smoke on the 1st floor, and high heat with active fire on the 2nd floor.

Ladder 41 crews laddered the structure, performed coordinated roof ventilation, and assisted with interior search and overhaul.

The fire was quickly knocked down, contained to the bathroom and adjacent bedroom. One pet was rescued.

The cause remains under investigation by Chester County and Caln Township Fire Marshals.
