On Thursday Night at approx 8pm another strong storm rolled through Thorndale and surrounding areas in Chester County bringing a lot more rain and lightning. Shortly after the rains stopped Thorndale Fire Company along with Ambulance 41 (Coatesville) and Medic 93 (Brandywine Hospital) were dispatched to Eleventh Ave and Foundry Street in Caln Twp for a vehicle in the water. Ambulance 41-1 arrived 1st and reported the vehicle was out of the water and no need for fire services but the roadway would need to be shut down. Assistant 38 recalled Rescue 38 and had Squad 38 respond to assist with shutting down traffic. Also while this was happening Traffic and Utility 38 were called out to Lincoln Highway and S Bailey to assist with shutting down S Bailey under the train tracks due to flooding conditions. The Traffic and Utility shut down the roadway on both sides until the Road Crew arrived to place barricades. The Officers and Members of Thorndale Fire Company would like to remind you not to enter standing water on the roadway especially if you don't know how deep it is. Turn around, Don't Drown.
