At 11:10 this morning, the Thorndale Fire Company (38) was dispatched to assist the West Bradford Fire Company (39) on a working house fire in the 2200 block of Strawberry Lane. The call originally came in at 11:01 that put Station 39, West Chester (Fame) and Modena (37) enroute. Chief 39 (Law) reported to the county that he could see the header from the fire at some distance out and requested the next alarm which brought in units from Thorndale, Downingtown and Po-Mar-Lin.

Engine 38 arrived on scene and set up a ladder for rescue on the Bravo side of the house, then made entry through a second floor window on the Alpha side as it was reported the area was not accessible from the stairs. The crew assisted with knocking down some small fires, ventilation and overhaul while the Chester County Fire Marshall along with the PA State Police Fire Marshall conducted their investigation. Afterwards, the crew assisted with mopping up any remaining hot spots, then helping West Bradford clean up their hose and ladders.

Engine 38 and the crew returned to the station and cleaned up the tools and were back in service by 16:00.

Special thanks to Mark Walsh of Irish Eyes Photography for all the great pictures.
