MVA w/ Entrapment on West Chester Rd

On Tuesday morning 10/6/2015 at 0640hrs as most people were awake and getting ready for work or school the volunteers from Thorndale Fire Company along with Station 37 (Modena) and Medic 93 were dispatched to West Chester Rd & S Bailey Rd for the auto accident reported with confirmed entrapment. Chief and Deputy 37 were the first ones to arrive on scene and advised Chester County 911 Center the accident would be at West Chester Rd & Luna Dr which was in West Bradford Twp. At that time Company 39 (West Bradford) was added to the call. Chief 37 was reporting a two vehicle accident with entrapment in one of the vehicles. Rescue 38 made the response with a crew of 4 and was the 1st fire apparatus on scene. The Rescue was positioned to the front of the vehicle where there was entrapment and the crews went in service with two tools while also stabilizing the vehicle. Rescue 38's crew was able to free the driver who was not injured in less then five minutes. Engine 37-3 arrived and secured the battery on the 2nd vehicle that was involved and stood by until the vehicles could be removed. Rescue 38's crew made themselves available after all the equipment was placed back on the truck. Traffic 38 remained on scene to assist with traffic control until tow trucks removed the vehicles involved.
