On Monday afternoon 11/9/15 just before 1400hrs Rescue 38, Engine 76 and Ambulance 41 were dispatched to the 1300 block of N Bailey Rd for a child stuck in a tree. Initial reports from the County 911 Center reported an 8 year old male with both legs struck in the branches approx 8 feet off the ground.

Upon arrival of Rescue 38 and Ambulance 41 the child was indeed stuck in a tree approx. 30 feet into the woods. The subject was about 6 feet off the ground and had his legs wedged between two tree trunks that were very close together. Crews from Rescue 38 and Engine 76 utilized the hurst spreaders along with wood wedges to spread the trunks apart just enough so that with the help of EMS the boy was able to slide each leg out one at a time. Since both legs were stuck in between two different spots the units had to free one leg at a time. After approx 15 minutes the boy was free from the tree and was thankfully uninjured and released to his parents.
