On Thursday night 11/19/2015 shortly before 11pm Station 38 along with Ambulance 41 and Medic 93 were dispatched to Blackhorse Hill Rd & Reeceville Rd for the accident reported with entrapment. Chester County 911 Center was advising units of a two vehicle accident and 1 subject reported entrapped.

Medic 93 arrived first and reported he had one subject heavily entrapped. Chief 38 arrived on location next and confirmed the report and requested Fire Police to secure the 3 intersections around the incident. Medic 93 at that time also requested a 2nd Ambulance which brought MICU 46 and requested the status of the helicopters. Chief 38 ordered the Rescue to set up the winch on arrival to move the Chevy Equinox that was involved away from the vehicle that had the entrapment and begin extrication on the 2nd vehicle.

Upon the arrival of the Rescue the winch on the drivers side of the Rescue was attached to the rear of the Chevy and the vehicle was pulled away from the Pontiac Sunfire. The Rescue crew then utilized the Hurst Cutter, Spreader, Combo Tool and Ram to remove the doors, roof and roll the dash. Once the roof and doors were removed and the dash was rolled away from the patient crews assisted EMS with removing the patient from the vehicle. Due to the weather conditions at the time no helicopter was available to fly so the patient was transported by ground to a local trauma center. The rescue crew remained on scene and assisted with clean up and cleared the scene once the vehicles were towed away.
