On Sunday 5/29/16 at 12:31pm Station 38 along with several assisting companies were dispatched to Mill Creek Ct in The Fairways for a reported house fire. Initial reports were that the back of the house was on fire and all occupants were out of the house.

LT-38B (Groff) arrived to find Police on location reporting the fire to be out. There had been a fire inside a trash can up against the side of the house which melted the siding and started to burn the plywood underneath it. Engine 76 was directed to stretch an 1 3/4 handline to wet down the area while crews from Station 49 was directed to check the inside of the residence for extension. Engine 38's crew was assigned overhaul of the exterior of the residence to make sure all the fire was extinguished.

Fortunately the fire was contained to the trash can and a small area of the side of the house. After all the equipment was returned to the apparatus crews were placed back in service and ready for the next call.
