On Wednesday 7/13/2016 at 1515hrs Station 38 along with Engine 76, Ladder 41, Engine 49, Engine 44-5 and 47 for RIT were dispatched to the 1000blk of N Bailey Rd for the reported garage fire. Deputy 49 and Engine 76 were 1st on the road and were advised of a possible attached garage fire.

Deputy 49 went on location approx 2 minutes after dispatch and reported a 2 story detached garage with smoke showing. He requested Engine 76 to pull into the driveway around the back of the house and that they would need to cut the garage door. Engine 38 was next to arrive and dropped a supply line from the end of the driveway up to the scene, and then prepared to supply water to Engine 76. Crews worked to cut a hole in the far left garage door while two 1 3/4 handlines were stretched thru the door to search for the fire.

Ladder 41 arrived and pulled straight up the driveway and set up the aerial to go to the roof to begin ventilation for the crews inside. Due to the lack of hydrants in this area a tanker task force was also requested to the scene. As crews from 49, 44 and 47 began to arrive they were put to several different tasks. Fire was found in the rear B/C (back left) corner of the garage and crews were able to make a quick knock on the fire. Due to the quick actions of everyone on scene the fire was brought under control very quickly and the Tanker Task Force was cancelled.

Crews remained on scene for over an hour doing overhaul and wetting down some hot spots that were found. Chester County Fire Marshall's were on scene as well investigating the cause of the fire. Due to the location of the fire and placement of apparatus Traffic 38 along with several fire police officers from 38 were also on scene providing traffic control around the scene.
