Rescue Assists West Bradford on MVA w/ Entrapment

On Monday 8/15/2016 at 0915hrs West Bradford (39) and Thorndale (38) along with MICU 46 (Minquas) and Ambulance 55 (Good Fellowship) were dispatched to WB 322 east of Romig Rd in West Bradford for the auto accident reported with entrapment. Initial reports were of 1 subject trapped in a vehicle with 2 vehicles involved. MICU 46 arrived at 09:23 and confirmed the report of 1 trapped. Rescue 38, Rescue 39 and Engine 39-3 arrived at 09:26 and began extrication efforts while EMS tended to the trapped occupant. Crews from both companies utilized the Hurst Cutter, Spreader, Combi Tool and Ram along with the reciprocating saw to remove the roof of the vehicle, roll the dash forward off of the driver and to cut the gas pedal. Crews were able to extricate the driver in 27 minutes with extrication being complete at 09:53hrs.

EMS transported 2 patients to local hospitals and Fire crews remained on scene cleaning up the debris and waiting for the vehicles to be towed.
