On 11/29/2016 at 08:55hrs Station 38 along with Ambulance 41 and Medic 93 were dispatched to Blackhorse Hill Rd & Reeceville Rd for the accident reported serious with possible entrapment. Initial reports were of a single vehicle into a tree with smoke from the front end of the vehicle and one subject possible trapped in the vehicle.

Rescue 38 made the response a short time later and as they were responding to the location Chief and Engine 76 from the VA Hospital went on scene and confirmed one vehicle into a telephone pole with one subject confined and updated the location to be on N Caln Rd south of Blackhorse Hill. The crew from Engine 76 and EMS were able to free the occupant in less then a minute. Due to this Rescue 38 stayed at the bottom of the hill on Caln Rd to block traffic while Fire Police were at the top of the hill blocking it there. One subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Fire Police and Rescue 38 remained on scene for approx 30 minutes keeping N Caln Rd closed until Flings Towing was able to remove the vehicle.

Shortly after clearing this accident and returning to station Rescue 38 was back out on the road again for another accident with injuries on the Route 30 bypass in the area of Route 340. The crew from the Rescue stood by until the vehicles were removed from the scene and went available.
