Serious Accident on 340

At 00:54 on Thursday morning Station 38 along with Ambulance 41 and Medic 93 were dispatched to the area of Rt340 and N Bailey Rd for an MVA reported with entrapment. Chief 38 responded within minutes and was advised by Chester County 911 Center of 1 vehicle off the roadway into a tree and the occupant appeared trapped and not responding. A short time later Caln PD arrived and requested that Fire/EMS expedite.

Chief 38 arrived and confirmed 1 vehicle into a tree with heavy entrapment. Ambulance 41 and Medic 93 arrived next and began to attempt to gain access to the patient. Unfortunately it was discovered that the lone occupant did not survive the accident. Rescue 38 arrived and set up the light tower to light up the scene for PD. Traffic 38 and several fire police also responded and shut down RT 340 between N Bailey and Bondsville. Utility 38 and Portable Light Tower 38 also made the response to help light the scene up for the investigation.

Crews remained on scene until approx 04:30hrs
