On Monday 1/16/2017 the morning started off early for the Thorndale Volunteers as we were alerted at 09:12 for the 200blk of Jonathan Dr in Moores Woods for a trash fire. Engine 38 made the response and were advised that it was a vacant property under construction and approx a 4x5 foot section of debris and trash on fire to the rear.

Engine 38 arrived on location and requested Tac 76 from the VA Hospital to assist due to the fire being approx 50 ft to the rear of a house which was up a steep hill. Once Tac 76 arrived the crews pulled a forestry line and were able to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for approx 25 minutes wetting the area down to prevent it from re-kindling.

We would like to remind residents of Caln Township that outdoor burning for purposes of disposal of any municipal waste, leaf waste, yard waste or recyclable materials is prohibited.
