On Wednesday night 2/15/2017 at approx 21:25hrs Station 38 was dispatched to assist the City of Coatesville at a reported house fire. Coatesville units were dispatched at 21:23hrs for a reported appliance fire (stove) and shortly after their dispatch the call was upgraded to a house fire because the caller reported that the entire kitchen was now on fire.

Ladder 41 arrived first and reported smoke showing from the front of the residence. Engine 43 arrived next and dropped a 5 inch line from the hydrant to the scene and crews from Engine 43 and Ladder 41 pulled an 1 3/4 handline and made entry through the front door. Crews were met with heavy smoke on the 1st floor and fire in the kitchen area.

Rescue 38 arrived on scene and the crew was told to stretch a secondary handline to the 2nd floor of the residence. 2 members from that crew were also sent to the kitchen to begin to overhaul. Engine 38 also made the response and also assisted with crews on the interior and exterior of the rear portion of the house. Crews on scene were able to get the fire under control quickly. FM's 101 and 109 were also called to the scene.

Also on scene was Traffic 38 with numerous Fire Police Officers from Thorndale assisting with shutting the roadway down for firefighters.
