On Thursday morning 4/13/2017 shortly after 7am Thorndale Fire Police were dispatched to the area of Lincoln Highway and S Bailey Rd to assist PD with traffic control after the auto accident. PD had been in pursuit of a stolen vehicle when it crashed into another vehicle at the intersection.

Ambulance 41 and MICU 46 were also dispatched and shortly after fire police were dispatched an Engine was requested from Station 38 as well due to one of the vehicles smoking. Deputy 38, Engine 38 and Traffic 38 all arrived within a few minutes of dispatch. Traffic 38 set up at James Buchanan Dr and Lincoln Highway closing down traffic while Engine 38 and the Deputy checked on the vehicle. No fire was found and the Engine crew was able to go available. Utility 38 also made the response to assist with traffic control.

Traffic 38 and Utility 38 coordinated and were able to set up barricades and cones blocking entrance to Lincoln Highway from CVS, Wawa and S Bailey Rd while the Traffic and Utility were both positioned at either end of the incident at James Buchanan and N Bailey Rd.

The roadway was closed for a little over 30 minutes before being opened back up.

We would like to remind you that if you see emergency vehicles, barricades or cones set up at an incident they are there to protect the emergency responders and victims. Please do not attempt to drive around them.
