On Monday August 3rd, Station 38, Ladder & Ambulance 41 (Washington Hose Co) and Medic 93 (Brandywine Hospital) were dispatched to GO Carlson Blvd east of North Bailey Road for an Auto Accident with Entrapment. FM 39 (Caln Township Fire Marshal) arrived on-scene shortly after dispatch to find a two-vehicle head on collision with one patient confined in their vehicle.

FM 39 established GO Carlson command and requested Fire Police from Station 38 to close GO Carlson at North Bailey and Municipal Drive. Engine and Utility 38 arrived on-scene and immediately began to remove the driver’s door and one post of the vehicle to help gain access to the patient. With patient access made, command recalled Ladder 41-2. EMS requested a medical helicopter to the scene due to the patient’s injuries.

Deputy and Engine 38’s crew established a landing zone right next to the accident scene and awaited Jeff Stat 3. Once EMS loaded the patient into the helicopter, Engine and Utility 38’s crews began to assist the tow company with debris removal.
